Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is NorthWest Georgia Physicians Association?

A. NorthWest Georgia Physicians Association is an Independent Physician Association (IPA), composed of primary care physicians, specialty and sub-specialty physicians, and other healthcare providers bound together to provide healthcare services under a community-based model. The goal of the organization is to bring healthcare services to the patient and not the patient to the service. By being community-based independent providers, we focus our business as well as our lives around the patients and community we serve.

Q. Why choose a provider from NWGPA?

A. First and foremost, we feel our providers offer the highest quality of healthcare to patients in an atmosphere of caring and compassion. By selecting a member of NWGPA, you are supporting your local healthcare community. Your local providers have worked hard to grow a community-based healthcare system that can provide the highest level of care, locally. Our providers are committed to continuing that growth and need your support. We feel that patients should not have to travel outside the area to receive the best care. Healthcare should be convenient, accessible, and affordable.

Q. How do I select a doctor?

A. The “Find a Doctor” box found on the nwgpa.org website is the best tool to use. You can select from the members of the organization and even get directions to their office. Information on where they attended medical school, are they Board Certified, and other important facts can be examined. If you want to know if a doctor participates in your health plan, simply give them a call.

Q. What if my Doctor is not a member?

A. This does not mean that he or she is not a good physician. Ask your doctor why they do not support the organization. If their interest appear to lie outside the local community, than consider changing to a provider who is a member of NWGPA.
